Almost Lover - MM

The first time I heard this song the other night, I really could say that I can relate to it. I have been feeling lonely lately. Singing this song helps me try to forget someone I think I'm falling for. Sigh.

Here's the lyrics on the chorus part:
Goodbye my almost lover

Goodbye my hopeless dream

I'm trying not to think about you

Can't you just let me be?

So long my luckless romance

My back is turned on you

Should've known you'd bring me heartache

Almost lovers always do

Mother Knows Best About Dental Care

My Mom used to tell us to take good care of our teeth. I remember when my brothers and I were kids,we often visit the dentist. My Mom makes sure that whenever a tooth needs fixing, the dentist should be able to take a look at it. My Mom don't have to compare dental insurance because there weren't any during that time. Everything was paid for by the company she worked with at that time. So she took advantage of every medical and dental benefits she can get!

I myself have experienced several tooth extraction when I was young. Those were my temporary teeth that we're taken away. We don't believe in tooth fairies here in the Philippines so I didn't keep them! LOL! I was brave enough most of the time whenever a tooth gets extracted at a very young age. I was always excited about the ice cream or halo-halo treat that I'll be getting after the painful extraction. Imagine how simple things can make me happy when I was young. I guess everyone went through that! :D

I'm proud to say I'm not one of those who have false teeth at my age. This is one of the few lessons I learned from my Mom that I'll always be thankful for and I will remember to teach this to my future kids! :)

Friendships And Treats! :D

"Happiness is time spent with a friend and looking forward to sharing time with them again."
- Lee Wilkinson

I really feel lucky and blessed to have real friends. If not for them, this phase of my life (being jobless in Manila) should have been boring. :D I'm happy that they are there to cheer me up and take time to see me despite there busy lives. And they don't care if they are gonna be the one spending for me. They are my generous friends! :D I feel elated because they make me feel special!

Let me start with my day out with Raquel. It was a Thursday night when I didn't have anywhere else to go but my little room, she called me up and asked me out. I'm so glad she did! We went to some bars in Makati and really had a great time!

The other day, that was a Tuesday, my friends from Convergys invited me for a movie date. We have set the date a week ago. I can't think of any excuse not to see them. I miss these friends of mine - Julie, Judith, Carylle and Rina.

Since I resigned at Convergys, we very seldom see each other. Although we communicate through text messaging and keep ourselves updated in Facebook, it's still different being able to talk to them and have fun with them in person.

After chatting at Starbucks in Glorrietta 4, we watched Pirates Of The Caribbean. I'm not really a fan of the movie but I love Johnny Depp! That man doesn't fail to make me fall in love with him no matter what role he portrays! I had fun watching the movie!

It's so rare to find friends who love you for real. Who doesn't care about your past and whatever you have become. They support and care for you no matter what. I'm just so blessed to have met them and shared beautiful moments with them.

I love you friends! Thanks for loving me back! :D

Treat At Giligans

My Mom has gone to Malaysia 2 days ago. I was with her and her friends during their orientation for the trip until they went boarding at the airport. She stayed here in Manila for a night. We were able to meet with my cousin Michelle and her parents Sunday night.

Michelle treated us at Giligans, a restaurant in Megamall. I was glad I saw my Aunt Zeny and Uncle Boy before they leave the next day for Gensan which was the same day my Mom was about to leave for Malaysia. It was fun being able to chat with them. Raquel, a family friend, also joined us and actually helped me out shopping for some clothes that my Mom needed for the trip.

Here are some of the pictures we took that night! :D

I love my Mom! :D Thanks, Michelle, for the treat!

Thinking About My Brother...

I can't help but wonder why my younger brother is still jobless. I'm not sure if he applies for a job back in the province. I hope he does. As a registered nurse, I bet he misses wearing a nurse uniform and do his duties in a hospital. I haven't talked to him lately over the phone. My Mom is here and tells me about how she's getting tired of supporting my brother's family. My poor Mom. She's getting old now yet she still provides for my brothers.

I hope I can talk to my brother one of these days so we can discuss about his life and his plans. My Mom told me that my brother's wife have decided to go abroad. They have planned that long before but still haven't made it come true. I hope they will be able to get a job so they won't be asking help from their parents anymore.

My 400 Meter-Dash Run

It was Iglesia Ni Cristo's 1st Unity Games yesterday which was held at Rizal Memorial Sports Complex here in Manila. I participated in one of the games which I never dared to play before - the 400 meter-dash relay! LOL!

I actually thought that I'll just be running for 100 meter-dash relay. I didn't realize until I was already on the track. I will have to be running at the whole oval! I wasn't nervous when it was about my turn until I started running. Thank God I didn't collapse on the track when I was about to finish it or else it would be very embarrassing!

My friend took a video of it. I don't know if I will have to thank him or not! But I'm glad he took the video. I have something to laugh about whenever I get the chance to watch this. :D

In case you're wondering, our team didn't win. I'm glad to have participated on that game though!

My Dear Mom Is Coming To Town! :)

My Mom is arriving here in Manila today. I actually have a few minutes to prepare so I can fetch her at the airport. She's gonna be staying here at my apartment for one night and will leave for Malaysia tomorrow. She's really excited about her trip, actually. I'm not really sure how long she'd stay there but she's coming back here in Manila and stay for a few days with me.

As usual, she's got a lot of plans in her stay here. Like going to Divisoria to buy cheap items that she can sell back in the province. For her tour, she still have to buy some personal stuff that she can use in KL. I'm not sure yet if she needs to buy zamberlan hiking boots since I don't know what's their itinerary at Malaysia. But I'm sure she needs new pair of pants.

I have to go for now to get my Mom at the airport. I don't want her to be waiting too long or else she'll leave and there's no way for me to get hold of her! :D

Acne, Please Disappear!

During my cousin's wedding, I was too anxious about my acne. It seemed to be just getting worse lately. I have tried several different products but they don't seem to work anymore. My cousin, Michelle have been telling me to take contraceptive pills instead because it may have something to do with my imbalanced hormone. I finally gave in to her prodding. I'm not sexually active but will try if this contraceptive pill will work for me. I have consulted an ob-gyne and was given a prescription. I hope this will be the cure for the acne that I've been waiting for. If it still is not gonna work, I will have to try acne vitamins. I'm gonna have to read reviews about them first, though!

Acne, please disappear now. :(

Chasing Pavements - MM

I got really bored this past couple of days. So I made this video. LOL! I had fun even though I was all alone in my room. This is what happens when I become a bum!

I was doing a karaoke online of Adele's song called "Chasing Pavements". And I thought why not record it? I hope you guys like this for Music Monday! :D

A Cup Of Frappe And Thoughts For Mom...

I'm already getting bored just being at home so I decided to finally go out, by myself. My friends are busy and I prefer strolling alone today.

After I paid my bills, I went to Greenbelt, Makati. I was too thirsty and really wanted a taste of my favorite Java Chip Grande Frappe at Starbucks. They offered half the regular price for their summer promo which they call Happy Hours. It starts from 12noon until 2 o'clock in the afternoon. There was already a long queue when I got to the coffee shop but I really didn't mind. I wasn't in a hurry anyway. The store was packed with Starbucks fanatics who, like myself, were patient enough to grab a cup of our favorite coffee.

When my frappe and cinnamon was served, I sat outside the coffee shop and enjoyed every bite of my cinnamon and every sip of my Frappuccino. While I was there, sitting alone, enjoying the afternoon breeze, I was able to think about what's going on with my life. I'm jobless and I'm about to move back to the province where I belong. I'm going to be with my Mom again. Will I be able to survive? I know it's a foolish thought. I have mentioned a lot in this blog that my Mom and I really don't get along well. I'm a little bit worried about that. I hope I have changed. I'm hoping I'd be more patient with her this time.

I have always run away from my Mom. I think more than 6 years of being away from her is enough. I'm a grown woman now. I hope my Mom also realizes that. I really wish that when I'm back at home with her, there will be peace on earth. :D

I just want to be a good daughter this time. I want to be around her now that she's old. She needs me more this time. It's time for me to take care of my Mom.

Happy Mother's Day to you, Nanay! :D

The Upcoming Change In My Life...

I'll be going back to GenSan for good next month. That's one of the upcoming changes in my life. Sigh. I'm happy because I'll be with my family and friends back there but it makes me feel sad because I'll be leaving friends here in Manila.

I have lived here in Manila for more than 3 years now. I made a lot of friends at work and at Church. I basically met people with different personalities. Those that I call friends are the ones I get along very well, of course. There were silly friends who I love laughing out loud with. There are those funny guys who needed hair loss treatment but really feel comfortable about themselves! The women whom I shared some of my secrets with. They are real friends of mine whom I'll terribly miss when I'll be back in GenSan. I doubt if I ever will be seeing them again.

I have told most of them about my plan. They too, were sad about the news. But they understand that my Mom is more important to me right now than anyone and anything else. It's time for me to take care of her. It's time for me to stop running away from my responsibility as a daughter.

I'm trying to enjoy my last few weeks here in Manila with my friends. Although sometimes it makes me really sad whenever I think about finally saying goodbye to them. Well, I should make the most out of my last few weeks here in Manila then.

Sick And Feeling Fat...

I have arrived back here in Manila since Monday but I haven't really been productive. I'm sick and I feel fat after my 3-day vacation in GenSan. I had a great time when I was there but was really busy before and during the wedding day. I, together with my family and friends who helped out with the wedding preparation didn't have enough sleep. Lainy, who was the wedding coordinator/sister of the groom mostly did everything and all her efforts paid off! The wedding was awesome! Congratulations to the bride and groom and everybody especially to my ever-reliable cousin Lainy! I'll be posting the pictures later.

I'm back in Manila but haven't been really productive. Since I'm down with flu, I just wanted to sleep most of the time. If there weren't any activities at Church, perhaps I'll just be on my bed all day! I haven't even visited the gym since I got back. I better start reading oxyelite pro review to find an alternative for loosing weight. I might not be able to go to the same gym sooner or later. Sigh. There are going to be a lot of changes in my life which I'm also going to talk to you guys about soon. It's all going to be in a different post.

I'll leave you hanging for now. I have to run some errands at Church. :D
