AVATAR - Must See Movie Of '09

I went to see the movie Avatar in 3D at Greenbelt the other day with cousin Michelle and her fiance Jon. It was my first time to watch a film in 3D and it was amazing! It felt like I was actually in the movie! Like it was real! Lol!

The movie is about a paraplegic war veteran, Jake Sully who's sent to the planet called Pandora which is inhabited by the natives - Na'vi, a humanoid race with a different language and culture. His mission is to get information about the tribe and eventually persuade them to leave their land so that the greedy corporate figurehead Parker Selfridge could get precious materials on that planet. He gets in a tube where he can incorporate himself to an Avatar which enabled him to bond with the Na'vi tribe. He got so awed by the beauty of the planet. He even fell in love with the beautiful alien Neytiri. His love for the tribe, the planet Pandora and Neytiri eventually caused conflict on his mission. He will do his best to save the planet, the people and the woman he love!

James Cameron, the writer, director and producer of the film is soooo brilliant of being able to create this movie!!! It was really awesome!!! This is indeed the best movie of the year! A must see!!!

Dampa Treat!!!

Me and my colleagues went out and "pigged out" last week. We exchanged gifts after work and ate pizza. We then decided to go to Seaside Resto - we also call it "Dampa" where we had ourselves filled with seafood delicacies! It was indeed a great treat for us! I had so much fun just laughing and chatting with my colleagues.

Here are some photos taken during that day.

The Team Bast

I got a gift!!! :D

MELASON - Blissful Ally's Come Back!!!

After a long time of this blog being in hiatus mode, I finally decided to get it up and running again! This blog is back!!!

I promise to update this blog as much as possible from now on! I gotta create money out of this site.

I want to share what I have been upto lately. I got so addicted with a reality show! My day is not complete without viewing the show -Pinoy Big Brother - Double Up! I love the Melason love team. Really really love it! Melason is a combination of the names of my two favorite people in PBB Double Up - Melissa and Jason.

Melissa or Isay actually came from General Santo City which is also my hometown. She's not really pretty but I love her because she's a natural comedienne. She is loved by the naughty yet sweet boy - Jason of Mindoro. I love their tandem because they're both funny and entertaining.

Their love for each other isn't like the ordinary relationship. They started as bestfriends and now it looks like they could no longer hide their feelings for each other not in a romantic way though. But in a very unique way that will make you laugh out loud and scream at the same time. They definitely make me shiver to my bones in a nice way! Hahaha!

When looking at them, they make me reminisce my childhood love interest. Well, I wasn't really a child when I had the same "kilig" yet funny moments with some guy. But it was really fun!

I really am addicted to MELASON!!!

Here's a clip of what I'm talking about. Filipinos for sure can relate to this!

Welcome back Blissful Ally!!! :D

Punta Fuego 1

The company I work for treated their best of best teams to an overnight getaway at Punta Fuego. It's a very nice resort situated in Nasugbu, Batangas which is a two-hour drive from Manila. I was fortunate because I was one of those agents at work who became part of it. Everything about that event were free (transportation, food and lodging). Here are some pictures of the place. I'll be posting more photos later.

Friendship Blog Award - Thanks Windy!!!

It's been a long time since my last post on this blog. I apologize to those who continuously visit and do EC drops in this site. I didn't have enough time to make updates for personal reasons but I surely will make it up to you guys! Thank you for your continued support. I'm back folks!

On this post, I would like to thank most of all Windy of Windmill on the Hill who have encouraged me to go on with this blog. In fact he even gave me an award which I am so honored to accept! Thank you so much for the friendship Windy!

The Friendship Blog Award above implies :
Green: to symbolize the new buddies
Yellow: to represent the guys who are always active
Blue: to symbolize with high performing PR Bloggers
Red: to symbolize that our blood is red and therefore we are all brothers.
I had a different view about friendship before. I make friends with people whom I can get along with. But when I started blogging, it made me open up to a different kind of world - the virtual world, as they say. I learned that I could still make friends in the blogosphere since I get to know their personalities as manifested on their blogs. My blog pals may not be a handful yet but as I continue with my journey in this virtual world, I believe I'll meet more friends along the way!

I want to share this friendship award to the following blog pals:

Mizé, Honey, Ranran, Bill, Cacai, Wendy, NovaS, April, Ed

The rules:

1. Create a post as above
2. Include a link Giver Award.
3. For colleagues who have not followed this site or not exchange links, please follow or exchange links with me.
4. Copy-paste the image to be replicated at your Blog Post.

Kuya Charlie

Look who's there on my guest book!!! It's my long lost step bro, Carlos M. Cruz!!!

Kuya Charlie, I didn't know your real name is Carlos! Lol! It's been a while to not have heard from you. I'm really surprised you signed my guestbook! Hahaha! I'm just so glad you did! I've been waiting to get in touch with you, Kuya. Please send me an email at

Kuya Charlie is my step brother and we haven't seen each other after our Dad's burial. Wow! I couldn't believe he found my blog! Lol!

This definitely means a lot to me, Kuya. I hope to hear from you soon. Take care and God bless!!!

My Life Would Suck Without You

Kelly Clarkson won the first season of American Idol in 2002. The piece she sang on the Finale, A Moment Like This, became one of the songs on her first album Thankful which was released in 2003.

The album Breakaway followed in 2004 revealed the rock-oriented image of Kelly. She worked with Avril Lavigne on this album who actually co-write the title track.

Her third album My December which was released on 2007, showcased the songs she composed. Errr, I'm not too familiar with the songs, though.

This year presents All I Ever Wanted carrying her single which I really love and have been singing repeatedly lately! It's entitled My Life Would Suck Without You. The video below is an acoustic version.

It is incredible to think of all the work that goes on behind the scenes and all the people that support these talented singers. Lots of hours at sound engineering schools and many degrees from music production colleges.

Sigh! I just miss the feeling of being in love, I guess! Lol! Enjoy the Music Monday!!!

Adam Vs. Kris in American Idol Finale

The judges and Kris Allen himself were surprised when Ryan Seacrest announced that Kris was the first finalist for American Idol Season 8 Finale. With 1 million votes separating Kris and Adam, it's pretty obvious that Kris is the favorite of most viewers! The result make me think twice about Adam Lambert ending up being the next Idol! No offense to Kris Allen's fans but Adam basically has the "idol" quality. But still, it's America's votes that will surely reign! I still agree that both of them deserve to be on the finals!

Much to Gokey's family's and Paula Abdul's disappointment (since she has been rooting for Danny Gokey to be on the finals from the start) her favorite got the lowest vote this week. Danny did his final song which is really heartwarming - You Are So Beautiful. Believe me! I had goosebumps when listening to him sing it! He made me teary eyed with his beautiful rendition of the song. Well, it's not going to be the end for him though. With his talents, there's going to be a lot of doors open for him!

The long wait is about to be over! Season finale is going to happen next week!!! Goodluck to Kris and Adam!

Aaaaahhhhh! David Cook and David Archuleta arrived in Manila yesterday for their upcoming concert this Saturday, May 16 at SM Mall Of Asia!!! The idol icons are finally here! Can you believe that??? Too bad, I can't watch! I have work! Boohoo!!! For sure, Filipino fans are going crazy and are excited about the concert! Here are the videos of the Davids inviting Filipino fans on their concert!

I love you David Cook!!! Lol!

Iraheta Bid Goodbye to American Idol

The 17-year-old high school student from Los Angeles, Allison Iraheta, got eliminated in Idol this week. She received the lowest number of votes after her performance on Janis Joplin's "Cry Baby" on this week's Rock Week. Ironically, after the announcement, she has all the reason to be a "cry baby". I wonder why Danny still got more number of votes even though he made a total mess on the last note of the song "Dream On". It was really funny!!! Lol!

Well, we have all three men left in the competition namely Danny Gokey, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert! They are going to visit their respective hometowns next week. Phew! I'm so excited for the big night! I will definitely get tuned in on Idol come May 20!

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

After our tedious work yesterday, my colleague, Julia and I went to see the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine. We decided to have some fun together since it's our off today.

I have been a fan of X-Men even when I was a kid. I used to watch it with my brothers when we were in grade school.

The movie is actually a prequel to the X-men movie trilogy (which by the way I love!). It focuses on Wolverine's (Hugh Jackman) character- basically his violent past and his involvement with the Team X which was organized by Colonel Stryker (Danny Houston). It also showed how wolverine become indestructible after he was swayed to have his skeleton change to metal adamantium. It was in the movie I learned about his half brother - Victor Creed (Liev Schreiber) who turned out to be one of the enemies of the X-men - Sabertooth.

If I am to rate the movie from 1-10, I'd say it's a 7. Well, honestly, I wasn't really wowed by the movie. It's not the same as what I have read about Wolverine's character in Marvel Universe. I expected that anyways. Movies that are based on books basically don't end up the same as what it is originally in the book. The director have to edit some scenes to make it more appealing to the big screen.

I enjoyed watching Hugh Jackman's sexy bod though! Lol! He did a great job with his role as Wolverine, as always!

Idol Finally Bid Goodbye to Matt

Can you believe it??? Adam Lambert at the bottom three last night? It made Kara's mouth left open in shock! Lol! Hmmm... It looks like most Americans weren't in awe of Adam's talent that much based on the results.

Anyways, Idol finally bid goodbye to the Timberlake-look-alike, Matt Giraud. After being saved by the judges Matt definitely had a great time on his extended stay in the Idol! He was actually the luckiest contestant so to speak. Even though Simon was all praises for him after his rendition of "My Funny Valentine" on Rat Pack night, he was still eliminated.

Well, what do we expect? Someone definitely has to be a cast away from the show each week. There should only be one American Idol! With the twist of fate that happened this week, it make me think twice about who will be the next Idol this year!

Double Elimination on Idol

Idol finalists is now down to five after Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai got eliminated on Disco Week. As expected, it was double elimination after judges saved Matt Giraud last week.

Lil once again received blows of criticisms from all four judges. Even though she fought her way from weeks of karaoke performances, she finally did her final act with her rendition of Chakha Khan's "I'm Every Woman". She sang it better than Tuesday night and made Paula say, "Why didn't she sing like that last night?". Too late for Lil!

After Anoop sang his version of "Dim The Lights" by Summers, Simon said it was his worst performance to date! America quite agreed to that and it sent Anoop home this week. Well, he had his share of triumph after the judges decided to make it top 13 instead of top 12 this year.

Allison Iraheta was found on the bottom three this week even though the judges were all praises for her with her performance. America thought otherwise.

Since it was disco week, all 7 finalists did an awkward opening disco performance choreographed by Paula Abdul. They all danced to the tune of Michael Jacksons "Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground).

David Archuleta returned to the Idol stage this week singing his single "Touch My Hand". Classic disco tunes where also performed by Freda Payne, Thelma Houston and KC from KC and the Sunshine Band.

We're about to go down to the final night! For me, it's no doubt that Adam Lambert is going to be the Idol this year. The only question is, who will compete with him on the finals?

I Love Earth!!!

Today is Earth Day! It is a day designed to encourage awareness and appreciation to Earth's environment. A lot of activities are done on this day just to urge everyone to love mother Earth.

Well, for me, showing the love for the environment should start from each of us. Just not littering anywhere and proper segregation of waste can contribute a lot to saving mother earth.

Let's do our share! Let's continue loving our mother Earth!

MM - Fireflies

It's Music Monday once again! I want to share a song from my favorite Reggae band - Hemp Republic.

The band was born on February 2000 in UP Los Banos. At that time, reggae is not yet that popular here in the Philippines.

The song "Fireflies" was also the cover of their second album which was launched on January 21, 2006.

Sadly, the band is in a "hiatus mode" since 2 members of the band went abroad to pursue their professions last year.

I hope you all like my feature for Music Monday this week! Enjoy!

Dating Per Se

I went out on a date last night. It was actually a group date. Friends of mine from Pampanga whom I haven't seen for months decided to visit me here in Manila. They actually set me up with this guy friend of them. So it was actually a "group date".

I enjoyed the night with my friends. I wasn't that attentive with the guy and actually wasn't disappointed since I'm really not interested about "dating" as of now. But he might have changed my prerogative if he have at least impressed me. Lol!

I don't know if the problem is with me, or the guy needs a few dating tips!

I chanced upon these Top 10 Dating Tips and thought of posting about it. This is for everyone who are ready for a date!

Top 10 Dating Tips
  1. Get prepared for dating. If you really want to succeed in the dating game, be ready to commit to dating. Half-heartedness won't work. In fact, it won’t even get you half-way. If you really want to date, put some effort into it. Do some research and think about what you want out of dating. Prepare yourself for the inevitable rejection we all face at some point in dating and commit not to give up.
  2. Get your act together. Begin a regime of looking your best. Join a gym, read health magazines, get fit and start a diet. Get your hair cut or styled and begin a new regime of good grooming or beauty treatment. Though it will not find you a date in itself, you will feel a million times more confident about yourself, and others can sense that.
  3. Go shopping and treat yourself to new clothes and even a whole new look. Get your image right, one that you can manage and live with, but one that flatters you. Don't try to be someone you’re not, but amplify and accentuate your positives. Throw out those tired jeans, old sweaters or cardigans and spruce yourself up. Your date will appreciate that you demonstrated some effort.
  4. Think about what you want to gain from dating and what timeframes you expect. Do you see yourself married within 2 years? If you do, then approach dating accordingly. If you are more laid back and don't take dating too seriously then ask yourself some honest questions about why you are dating and what you hope to achieve. If it is purely sex then ask yourself if you are about to be honest with those you hope to date.
  5. Surround yourself with people who will support your dating aims. By following the first four tips you will feel better and be more focused. Don’t sabotage this by sitting around with friends who are negative about love and relationships (often the married ones). Start attending social functions frequented by singles. Sitting alongside couples at dinner parties in suburbia is not necessarily where you need to be right now.
  6. Choose those you have a good chance of dating. Be realistic. In other words, your dating is based on the whole package you present as well as just your personality. If you are looking for a glamour girl or boy and want to date someone trendy and gorgeous, great! Just know that others will expect you to be the same.
  7. Join clubs, societies, sports events, drama groups -- anything that might help you meet like-minded potential partners. You will not meet people by staying indoors and playing video games – many have tried and failed at this approach.
  8. Take time off from dating occasionally if it’s not going well or causing dating fatigue. Recharging your batteries and keeping confidence and optimism levels high is an absolute must. We all hit rough patches, but don’t let your search for love become a death march. Date in phases if necessary.
  9. Enjoy dating for what it is, dating. It is meeting people and socializing and spending time in the company of stimulating individuals who may or may not play a bigger part in your life down the road. The fact is, most people have something interesting to offer. While you may not be out on the dating scene looking for new friends, you may well find one or two fabulous people along the way.
  10. Never make yourself too available. People like mystery and enigma and the thrill of the chase when dating. As part of keeping up the mystery, do not sleep with your dates early on. The longer a person is made to chase and fall for you within reason, the more likely that love may blossom. (And yes, this goes for both men AND women!) If the chemistry peaks too early, your emotions may never have time to catch up and the relationship will eventually wither away.

Judges Finally Saved A Contestant On Idol

American Idol finally saved a contestant this week!
It was "movie music" week. The contestants did songs from famous movies with one of the outstanding directors in the movie industry - Quentin Torentino.

My pick for this week? Of course, it's Adam Lambert! He definitely nailed the show this week with his rendition of Born To Be Wild. Truly amazing vocals he possess!

It was Matt Giraud who was supposed to get evicted this week but even though his performance is not good enough, the judges still gave him a chance.

Well, the decision is not exactly a good news since 2 contestants will get evicted next week. I wonder who these people are!

Scott MacIntyre Out on Idol

American Idol wasn't aired on Thursday at Q11. I was a bit disappointed but there's really nothing I can do about it. Basically every Lenten season, most of the big TV stations here in the Philippines signs off. I just hope though that Q11 will still air the supposed show last Thursday for AI the moment they sign back in.

So I ended up getting information about AI through Mr. Google. And I learned that Scott MacIntyre was the one voted out this week. He played the guitar during "songs from the year you were born" night which definitely wasn't a good idea. He never should've listened to Paula's advise about stepping out of the piano.
Scott's stay in the competition inspired millions of people, for sure even if he didn't end up as the American Idol. He is a winner himself! His being legally blind did not hinder him to reach for his aspirations. And best of all, his appearance in the competition prooves that everyone could definitely turn their dreams into a reality.

She's finally get reunited with her son! Phew! I will definitely miss this unique and pretty girl on the show.

Alexis Grace Got Voted Out Of American Idol

The 21-year-old single mom from Memphis - Alexis Grace, got voted out of American Idol last week. She quite disappointed the judges with her rendition of the song Jolene by Dolly Parton on last week's Grand Ole Opry themed show. Kara DioGuardi said that Alexis' "lost her edge" on that song choice.

After Ryan announced Alexis' name as the one who had the least number of votes, she sang her song one last time but still did not impress the four judges and unanimously decided to not save her from being eliminated on the show.

"It was good, but it wasn't good enough," said Cowell. "Sorry. It's the end of the line I'm afraid."

Allison Iraheta and Michael Sarver joined Alexis at the bottom 3 last week and really felt relieved when they both learned that they're safe.

I wonder who's next to go home or be saved next week!

Meet My Friend Cathy...

That's me and Cathy

Me and Cathy have been friends since we were sophomores in college. I was a new student in that school and she was one of those few sensible people that I immediately made friends with back then. I rely on her not only on our projects and homeworks but also it's her that I turned to whenever I needed someone to help me decide on what to wear on my gigs (since I was doing a part time singing back in college). She also was the one who's there for me when a boyfriend dumps me. She was actually one of my most trusted friends.

We parted ways when I worked in a call center in Pampanga. We got reunited when she also decided to work there. By that time, it was my turn to help her since we discovered that she was pregnant. The guy doesn't care about her so Cathy decided to go on with the pregnancy and decided to raise the baby alone although I was with her all throughout the pregnancy and also when she delivered her pretty baby girl - CJ.

We once again parted ways because I decided to work here in Manila. It was really hard for me to go but then unavoidable circumstances forced me to leave Pampanga. I had a lot of great friends over there that I still miss up to now. I haven't found someone like them here in Manila yet even though I've been here for more than a year already. I still long for their company especially Cathy's.

We still communicate but it seldom happened because we both have been busy with our lives. I also haven't visited them for quite a while now. I called her the other day and asked how she and CJ have been. I know she has been experiencing financial difficulties even a few months back and I just felt guilty because there were times I couldn't help her because I also have my own problems.

Just this past couple of days I've learned that a friend of ours has been courting her. She asked an advise from me about the guy. His name is Kiko and I knew that he has been eyeing on Cathy since we were in college. And since me and Kiko were on the same church (he's also a member of Iglesia Ni Cristo), I then told her that I would be glad to see them together! Even though I don't know Kiko that much, since we were on the same "faith", I am confident that he will take care of Cathy and CJ.

I am really happy for my friend. After all that Cathy has been through, she deserve someone who is God-fearing and responsible and basically better that CJ's biological father. I am also happy because she will soon experience the same faith as mine. I just want her to be happy and I just hope that Kiko is definitely God's sent for her and that he is the answer to Cathy's prayers.

As always, I will keep on praying for my friend's life of happiness and peace!

Updates About Me And American Idol

Hi everyone! I hope you guys are having a great day! I haven't posted on this blog yesterday because I was feeling tired, stressed out and really felt bad about not being with my Mom on her 62nd birthday yesterday. So I decided to get a massage yesterday to ease my anxiety. And it worked! I'm now back on my feet and I really feel good today! I had a great sleep last night that I haven't even woke up on the sound of my alarm at 2am. I actually came late for work today! That wasn't a good start, though! Yet it didn't ruin my day at all! Lol!

Anyways, let me give you a few updates about American Idol this week.

We bid goodbye to two contestants - Jasmine Murray and Jorge Nunez since they were the ones who had the least number of votes. The judges' "twist" on the show, which is saving one contestant from being voted out, didn't work for both Jasmine and Jorge.

The Idol contestants did their own versions of Michael Jackson's songs and it made Anoop Desai and Megan Corkery almost on the brink of getting through to the competition. I was also disappointed with their performances last Thursday.

Anoop did a karaoke-like version of MJ's "Beat It" which made Simon regret his decision of retaining Anoop to the contest. Megan, on the other hand, did a terrible performance last Thursday. Her Megan-moves (which is more of wiggling and giggling) did not seem to synchronize with the song. With her performance, she didn't get favorable comments from the judges.

Danny Gokey and Adam Lambert where at their best this week. Danny's performance with the song "Pretty Young Thing" made Paula dance. I am actually starting to like Danny.

Adam, as always, did a great job when he performed "Black Or White". His voice range is really amazing. And I agree with Paula when she said that Adam is on his way to the Finals!
