Home Sweet Home!!!

At last I'm home!!! Err... I'm actually at my cousin Ellaine's house but her residence is one of the places I call home here in Mindanao. I am still waiting for them to come home though. They knew I was coming and they are now headed home. My older brother Aleks supposed to fetch me at the airport. He came but since I got big luggages, his motorcycle can't sustain the weight of the bags and mine, hehehe. So I decided to ride a cab.

It's really nice to be back! I am so excited about the lineup of activities that I'll be doing during my stay here. Most of all I'm so excited to get reunited with relatives and friends. Whew! Home sweet home at last!

I'm coming home!!!

I'm so excited about my homecoming. After I've learned about my extended vacation, on that same day, I bought myself a new travel bag! Geez! I can't wait to be reunited with my family and relatives again!

Here's a song entitled Home by Daughtry.... Enjoy!

How My Passion for Music Began

I haven't updated this blog for a long time (hahaha! obviously!). A lot has been going on at work right now and it kept me busy. Unfortunately our account was dissolved so I have to fish for other accounts that would suit my interest and skills. I still haven't decided though.

Anyway, I still haven't bought myself a present from my 13th month pay (although I have been spending a lot for pampering myself). I'm thinking about buying myself a long-time present - a guitar. I have been wanting to own one since I was a freshman in college. I think it's time to make that wish come true. One of these days, I hope I could drag myself on one of the music stores here before my 13th month bonus runs out! And maybe I could post some pictures and videos of myself playing that guitar! hehehe...

I learned playing the guitar when I was 17. Thanks to my cousin Jayson, who is Ellaine's younger brother. He was the one who taught me the basics of playing the guitar and other musical instruments like flute, tambol and bass guitar. He was basically the one who influenced me and encouraged me to hone my craft in music. He kept on telling me that I was a fast learner that is why he is so fond of teaching me. I got more enthusiastic because he kept on praising me every time I learned a song. Not only did he teach me the basics of music, he also brought me along on his cultural band at that time. My interest grew intensely when Kuya decided that we should form a Band. That is when Kuerdas was born. It is the band I grew up with. With the help of our friends and families and those people who believed on our talents, Kuerdas is now famous in our hometown - General Santos City.

Unfortunately, I don't get to play with them anymore because I decided to get myself a job here in Manila. I can only jam with them when I take my vacations there. I miss the band so much especially Kuya Jayson. He is not just my cousin but he's also my mentor and friend. Everyone of us in the band look up to him and respect him. He's like the Big Brother of the band. He's not strict nor linient. He's even funny. He can make you laugh so hard that you would want to cry!

I love my Kuya Jayson no matter what. And I owe him a lot, together with all the people who have been part of Kuerdas (not just the band members but also those who were behind Kuerdas - you know who you are!). I owe a lot from you guys. I won't be the person I am now if not because of you.

I can really tell that Kuerdas have played a major role in my life. The band is not just all about playing reggae music but it is also about fun and loving and caring. We were family.

Kuerdas continues to touch other people's lives especially through their songs because they now have growing population of fans and followers in GenSan. I just hope that their dream will not be stagnant in our hometown. I hope they would be known and be seen on MYX - the Filipino music channel. And if that will happen, I hope I can still jam with them!

Good luck and God bless Kuerdas!
